Leftover pork chops from the night before.
You really don't want to reheat pork chops, they're not that good a second night, so off to the cupboards I go. Actually it was the fridge. I found some phyllo dough about to go bad. I bought it for some apple turn-overs but never found the energy :) Now what to do...
I diced up the pork chops and heated them.
I crumbled up some tator tots and added minced garlic, minced celery, minced onion, salt and pepper. It wasn't bonding well so I took another trip to the fridge.
I added 2 beaten eggs to the mix. Much better.
This is the only picture I have of putting it together. It sucked. My dough was dried out when I opened it and putting the butter between the layers was an oily mess. I did finally figure out how to fold the dough and filling into triangles. I won't be trying that again. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
This was my end result. The outer layers was really crumbly and the inside was a little dry. I was going for a savory hot pocket but never really got it. It's not that it tasted bad, it was pretty good but you had to rub off the outside layer otherwise it was too crumbly to really chew. The kids just dipped into the mashed potatoes and gravy and finished it off.
